Child Spree

Giving Students a Bright Start to the School Year

For many students, the excitement of a new school year can be overshadowed by the worry of not having basic essentials like clothing or school supplies. Child Spree, one of Davis Education Foundation’s cornerstone events, was created to bridge this gap, ensuring that every child starts the school year with the confidence and resources they need to succeed. This program brings together the power of community—business sponsors, individual donors, and volunteers—to make a real difference for students who need it most.

Each year, hundreds of at-risk students are nominated by their teachers to participate in Child Spree. These students receive new clothing, shoes, and other essentials, giving them the opportunity to begin the school year on equal footing with their peers. With this support, students can walk into their classrooms on the first day of school feeling comfortable, prepared, and ready to learn. Child Spree has become a tradition of compassion and community, growing stronger each year thanks to our generous supporters.

If young people don’t have their basic needs met, they cannot academically perform to their optimal potential.

Community-Powered Support

Backed by Local Champions

The success of Child Spree depends on the generosity of our business sponsors, volunteers, and individual donors.

America First Credit Union, Lifetime, and other incredible partners make this program possible each year by providing the financial and logistical support needed to serve our students. Volunteers give their time to ensure that each student feels empowered, valued, and ready to start the year strong.

By supporting Child Spree, you are not only helping to meet students’ immediate needs but also investing in their long-term success. Your donation or volunteer hours contribute to a program that helps students feel that they belong, reducing the anxiety of not having the essentials and reinforcing their commitment to learning.

Thank you to our sponsors!
