We are thrilled to announce Andru Jones as the Davis Schools Teacher of the Year. This award, in partnership with Kia Young, honors Mr. Jones for his outstanding leadership as a special education teacher and football coach at Viewmont High School.
Since joining Viewmont High, Mr. Jones has transformed our school with his positivity and dedication. Assistant Principal Hadyn Call noted, “His students know he loves them, his players know he loves them, and the community knows he loves them.”
Beyond teaching, Mr. Jones leads the Vikings football team in community initiatives, earning them a reputation as a “community-focused powerhouse.” His compassion and commitment are evident in every interaction, especially with our Essential Elements students.
Today’s celebration at Viewmont High included a surprise—a car from Young Kia and one year of insurance from Goldenwest Credit Union. A special thank you to Young Caring for Our Young for their amazing support.
Thank you, Andru Jones, for being an inspiration to us all. Here’s to many more years of making a difference.
