We are thrilled to announce that our very own Ginger Coulam has won a Best of State Award for her incredible dedication and hard work. Ginger is not just any administrative assistant; she is the lifeblood of the Davis Education Foundation. Beyond her daily responsibilities of keeping us organized and on schedule, Ginger takes on a role that truly sets her apart. Every Friday, she trades her office attire for jeans and tennis shoes to work at our warehouse in the Freeport Center, where she oversees the sorting and distribution of essential supplies to students across the Davis School District.
From speaking to youth groups to coordinating massive volunteer efforts, Ginger’s commitment extends well beyond office hours. Her efforts culminated in the overwhelming success of our 9/11 Day of Service initiative, where nearly $78,000 in products were donated to support our students and their families in September 2023 alone.
But what truly makes Ginger special is her genuine care and compassion for everyone she meets—from the crew at the warehouse, whom she affectionately calls her “warehouse guys,” to the families and students whose lives she directly impacts. Ginger’s innovative approach to leveraging our resources has also created a powerful community connection to our foundation’s mission.
Ginger might shy away from the spotlight, preferring to credit others for their contributions, but today we shine that spotlight on her with immense pride and gratitude. Congratulations, Ginger, on your well-deserved award. Your drive, energy, and love for helping students are truly inspirational.
Thank you for being the heartbeat of our office and the hero in our community.
