Farmington, Utah - August 5, 2024 - Davis Education Foundation’s annual Child Spree event was a resounding success, bringing joy and community spirit to Davis County. Held on Friday, August 2, 2024, from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM, at three Kohl's locations, the event provided an exclusive shopping experience for 500 children in need, ensuring they were well-prepared for the upcoming school year.
The morning was filled with excitement as hundreds of volunteers, including many groups from high schools in the district, shopped for new clothes and school supplies on behalf of the children. Teachers across Davis County nominated students for this event, and each child’s preferences and needs were compiled into personalized shopping bundles. Volunteers received a printed list and a QR code to view the child’s video, ensuring a meaningful and tailored shopping experience.
The generous support of our corporate and individual donors made it possible for each child to receive $150 for shopping, with many volunteers often extending their generosity beyond this amount. This heartwarming event was made possible by the committed Kohl's managers and employees who opened their stores early, as well as the hundreds of community volunteers who assisted with the shopping.
